Crises, Blackberries & an ATV

During an urban expedition to find blackberries with my son Edison on 14/08/2022, I update how the news has been dominated by Russia, Ukraine and the worsening cost of living/energy crisis. Whilst Edison rides his ATV I conclude by reflecting on Edison’s progress ahead of his school start date in a few weeks’ time.

Nature & Normality

Exploring Romney Marsh Nature Reserve with my son Edison on 16/01/2022, I talk about the overwhelmment of the NHS and how ‘normal’ life is different to two years ago; meanwhile Edison enjoys the simplicity of the natural setting.

Ramblings In Nature

During a walk with my son Edison at Brockhill Country Park, Saltwood, Kent on 15/01/2022 I talk about how the world feels closer to normality after announcements that the Omicron variant is less damaging than was initially feared a few months ago.

Whilst I ramble about personal items, my son Edison explores nature; finding a stream, waterfall, camp and a woodland ‘cave’.

The Emergence Of Vaccine Apartheid

During a visit to the park in Aldington, Kent on 17/07/2021 with my son Edison I update on the lingering societal impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in spite of the large number of people who have received their vaccinations and the forthcoming United Kingdom ‘Freedom Day’ .  In contrast, I add how from August 1st, France will require mandatory proof of vaccinations or a negative Covid test to enter supermarkets as the segregation and discrimination against non-vaccinated people begins to emerge.

The phrase “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from the virus  they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated” exemplifies my confusion with many people’s opinion.

A Hesitant Update

Following a trip to the park with my son Edison on 03/05/21, I walk and talk about the vaccine rollout reaching 65% of the population of the United Kingdom (UK).   After discovering some farm buildings I update on the latest lifting of restrictions for public events ahead of the forthcoming June 21st date, set by the UK to be the end of lockdown.

A Camp In The Woods

During a woodland stroll through Hamstreet nature reserve in Kent on 28/03/2021, I update on the lockdown and easing of Covid-19 restrictions in the United Kingdom and find a camp with my three year old son Edison.

Restrictions, Tunnels & Drills

During a walk with my son Edison on 06/03/2021 I update on the latest easing of social restrictions, the reaction to the Brazilian variant and the forthcoming reopening of schools; Edison enjoys the acoustics of a tunnel and playing with his toy drill.

On Top Of The Downs

On top of the North Downs near Wye, Kent on 27/02/2021 with my son Edison I reflect on the positive announcement of the pubs opening in a few months and social restrictions lifting on June 21st – provided certain conditions are met. Meanwhile, Edison enjoys the slopes and playing around the campfire.

The First Days Of Spring

During a walk along the Royal Military Canal near Bilsington, Kent with my son Edison on 21/02/21 I talk about the forthcoming roadmap out of lockdown, Angela Merkel’s opinion that the whole world needs to be vaccinated and discuss the new mandatory quarantine measures introduced by the United Kingdom government.

The Cancellation Of Christmas

During a walk with my son Edison on 20/12/2020 in Great Chart, Ashford I reflect on the announcement of new tier 4 restrictions and the cancellation of Christmas due to a new, ‘mutant’ strain of the Covid 19 virus.
